Collar:  

With tan and H hook ch 34 (44, 54) Being careful not to twist ch. 

RND 1. Ch 2 (does NOT count as 1st st but will look like a bpdc.) Dc in each ch around. Join in  space to left of beg ch2 with sl st. (33, 43, 53 dcs and 1 ch2 made.)  

RND 2. Ch 2, ** fpdc around next st. Bpdc around next st. * Rep from ** to * around. Join to side of beg ch2 with sl st. (33, 43, 53 post sts and 1 ch2 made.)  

RND 3. Ch 2, ** fpdc around next st. Bpdc around next st. * Rep from ** to * around. For Small size  only: Make extra dc in last st to make count even. Join to side of beg ch2 with sl st. (34, 43, 53 post  sts and 1 ch2 made.) Continue to Body Row 1 for small.  

RND 4 - Medium and Large: Ch-1, do not turn, * fpdc around next st, bpdc around next st * repeat  between * * around, fpdc around last st. Join to top of first fpdc with sl st. Chest/Body:

Attach Brown yarn in last st worked.  

RNDS 1 - 4: Ch 1 and sc in each st around. Join to 1st sc with sl st. (48, 62, 84 sts made.) At end of 

rnd 4, end off Brown yarn and weave in end. 

Small Size: RND 1: Attach Tan yarn in last st worked. Ch-1, (sc, dc) in first sc. ** sk next st, (sc, dc)  in next sc * rep from ** to * around, Join to top of first sc with sl st. (48 sts made.)

Begin body tapering and working in rows  

IMPORTANT: Check for center. If piece is not centered, sl st or cut yarn and reattach center st  and

Attach Brown yarn in any st from last row.  

RNDS 1 - 4. Ch 1 and sc in each st around. Join to 1st sc with sl st. At end of rnd 4, end off brown  and weave in end.  

Legs  

RND 1. Attach Tan yarn in any st in opening. Ch 1 and make 16, 22, 30 sc around. Join to 1st sc  with sl st. End off and weave in end.  

RND 2. Attach Brown yarn in any st. Ch 2 and dc in each st around. Join to end rnd. (16, 22, 30 sts  made.)

RND 3: Ch 2, ** fpdc around next st. Bpdc around next st. * Rep from ** to * around. Join to side  of beg ch2 with sl st. ( 16, 22, 30 post dcs made.) End off and weave in end.  End off Brown and weave in  

Row 1: Find center front of collar and put a marker into st.  

Attach Green yarn in st to left of marker. Ch 1 and sc in each of the next 32 (42, 52) sts around neck edge. ch 1, turn. [32 (42, 52) sts made.]  

Row 2: Sc in each of the next 14 (19, 24) sts, (sc next 2 sc together) twice. Sc in each of the  last 14 (19, 24) sts. Ch 1, turn. [30 ( 40, 50) sc made.]

Row 3: Sc in each of the next 14 (19, 24) sts, (sc next 2 sc together.) Sc in each of the last 14 (19, 24) sts. Ch 1, turn. [29 (39, 49) sc made.]  

Row 4: Sc in each of the next 14 (19, 24) sts. Sc in next st. Mark this st. sc in each of the last  14 (19, 24) sts. Ch 1, turn. [29 (39, 49) sc made.]

Row 9: Sc in each of the 31 (41, 51) sc across. ch 1, turn.

Rows 11 through (12 for S, 13 for M and 14 for L): Sc in each of the 33 (43, 53) sc across. ch 1,  turn. After you have finished rows for Sizes move to row 15.  

Row 15: Sc in each sc until 1 sc before marked st. Make 2 sc in next st. Sc in marked st. Make 2  sc in next st. sc in each of the last sts. [35 (45, 55) sc made.] For Small size only, skip to Row 18.  

Rows 16-17: For M and L Only: Sc in each of the (45, 55) sc across. ch 1, turn. 

Row 18: Sc in each sc until 1 sc before marked st. Make 2 sc in next st. sc in marked st. Make 2  sc in next st. sc in each of the last sts. [37 (47, 57) sc made.]  

Rows 19-22: Sc in each of the 37 (47, 57) sc across. ch 1, turn.  

Row 23: Sc in each sc until 2 scs before marked st. Make a sc dec over next 2 sts. Sc in marked st. Make a sc dec over next 2 sts. sc in each of the last sts. [35 (45, 55) sc made.]  

Row 24: Sc in each of the 35 (45, 55) sc across. Ch 1, turn.

Row 28: Sc in each of the 31 (41, 51) sc across. ch 1, turn.  

Row 29: Sc in each sc until 2 scs before marked st. Make a sc dec over next 2 sts. Sc in marked st. Make a sc dec over next 2 sts. Sc in each of the last sts. [29 (39, 49) sc made.]  

Row 30: Sc in each of the 29 (39, 49) sc across. ch 1, turn.  

Row 31: Sc in each sc until 2 scs before marked st. Make a sc dec over next 2 sts. Sc in marked st. Make a sc dec over next 2 sts. Sc in each of the last sts. [27 (37, 47) sc made.] End off  leaving a 20” tail. Fold in hood in half and sew top 27 (37, 47) sts together.  

Finishing: Attach yarn at inside bottom edge. sc around entire hood and front sides. End off and  weave in end.  

Ears – Make 2 sets or 4 ears  

Row 1: With green yarn and size H hook, ch 11. sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each of the next 8 chs. Make 3 sc in end ch, marking 2nd sc as tip of ear. Working on opposite side of ch, sc in each of the next 9 chs. ch 2 and turn. (21 sts made.)  

Row 2: Turning ch-2 counts as first half dc now and throughout. Half dc in each of the next 9 sts. In end ch make (half dc, dc, treble crochet, dc and half dc) mark treble crochet as tip. Half dc in each of the last 10 sts. ch 1, and turn. (25 sts made.) 

Row 3: Sc in each of the next 12 sc. In end ch make (half dc, dc, treble crochet, dc and half dc.) sc  in each of the last 12 sts. End off and weave in end for first ear. For second ear continue. (29 sts  made.) 

Finishing Ears  

Hold 2 ears together and sc through both thicknesses up to tip. In tip make (half double crochet, dc  and half dc.) sc down opposite side and across bottom. Join to first sc with sl st. End off leaving a  20” tail to sew to hat. 

Fold ear base down about ⅓ and tack in place. (Make sure to fold one ear to face left and one ear  to face right.  

Sew to side of hood as shown on cover.
