Materials needed: Size G crochet hook. Red and Cream color COTTON crochet yarn, Size G crochet hook. #10 Classic crochet thread and a size 4 steel crochet hook. Cotton balls for stuffing. Washed and dry can (approx 2 ½" x 6 ½" Scissors and Darning needle. Stuffing, and a hot glue gun (recommended but not required.) 

Rnd 1. With Cream color yarn and a size G hook, make a magic ring. Ch 1 and make 6 sc in the ring. Do NOT join but do mark the 1st st. (6 sc made.) 

Rnd 2. Make 2 sc in each st around. (12 sc made.) 

Rnd 3. (Make 2 sc in the 1st st. Make 1 sc in the next st) around. (18 sc made.) 

Rnd 4. (Make 2 sc in the 1st st. Make 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts) around. (24 sc made.) 

Rnd 5. (Make 2 sc in the 1st st. Make 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts) around. (30 sc made.) 

Rnd 6. (Make 2 sc in the 1st st. Make 1 sc in each of the next 4 sts) around. (36 sc made.)

Gather your supplies (can, stuffing, glue gun and stem.) 

Stuff the bottom sides only of the stem, and fit the can in. 

Mushroom Top 

Rnd 1. With Red yarn and G hook make a magic ring. Ch 1 and make 6 sc in the ring. Do NOT join but do mark the 1st st. (6 sc made.) 

Rnd 2. Make 2 sc in each st around. (12 sc made.) 

Rnd 3. (Make 2 sc in the 1st st. Make 3 sc in the next st) around. (15 sc made.) 4 

Rnd 4. Sc in the next 7 sts. Make 2 sc in the next st. Sc in the rem 7 sts. (16 sc made.)

Rnd 5. (Sc in the next 7 sts. Make 2 sc in the next st) twice. (18 sc made.) 

Rnd 6. (Sc in the next 5 sts. Make 2 sc in the next st) twice. (20 sc made.)

 Rnd 7. (Sc in the next 3 sts. Make 2 sc in the next st) taround. (25 sc made.)

Undercap 

Attach cream in any st on Rnd 18. 

Rnd 1. Ch 3, counts as 1 st now and throughout. dc in each of the next 3 sts. Dc next 2 sts tog. (Dc in each of the next 4 sts. Dc the next 2 sts tog) around. Join to the top of beg ch 3 with a sl st. (55 sts made.) 

Rnd 2. Ch 3, fpdc around the next st. Bpdc around the next st. Fpdc the next 2 sts tog. (Bpdc around the next st, fpdc around the next st, bpdc around the next st, Fpdc the next 2 sts tog) around. Join to the top of beg ch 3 with a sl st. (44 sts made.) 

Rnd 3. Ch 3 and (fpdc around next fpdc. Sk bpdc) around. (23 sts made.) 

Rnd 4. (Fpdc around next st. Fpdc the next 2 sts tog) around. 


Rnd 5. Note these are not dc but sc. Ch 1 and (fpsc around the next st. Sk 1 st) around. Join to 1st sc with sl st. end off and weave in the end. 

Dots on Mushroom Cap 

With #10 thread and size 4 hook, make a magic ring. Ch 2 and make 12 dc in the ring. Join to the top of beg dc with sl st. Tighten the ring and secure. End off leaving a long tail to later sew to cap.

Make as many as you want, (I made 11) and randomly sew to mushroom top.

Mushroom Skirt/Ring 

Using the same color as the stem, ch 33 and join to form a ring. 

Rnd 1. Ch 1 and sc in each ch around. Join the 1st sc made with a sl st.

Rnd 2. Ch 1 and sc in each st around. Join to beg sc with a sl st. 


Rnd 3. Ch 1 and (make a sl st in each of the next 2 sts. Make 2 hdc in the next st ) around. Join to the1st sl st made. End off and weave in the end. 

Finishing 

If desired use a brown permanent marker and tint just the ragged edge of the skirt. (Does not have to be perfect - not all nature is perfect.)


Slip skirt over stem about 6-7 rows down. Sew or glue in place.

  Colorful Flowers Pattern  Materials Needed: 3 yards bright yellow worsted weight yarn. 5 yards contrasting color worsted weight yarn. Size H crochet hook. Rnd 1: With bright yellow yarn and size H hook, ch 4, join to first ch with a sl st to form a ring. Rnd 2: Ch 1, make 10 sc in ring. Join to the first sc with sl st. Rnd 3: *Ch 3, skip 1 sc, sl st in next sc. Repeat from around ending with sl st into first sl st. End off yellow and weave in the end. (5 ch-3 loops made.)  Rnd 4: Attach any contrasting bright color with a sl st in any ch-3 loop. Ch 2, make 3 dc in the same loop.
